Queen – “Sheer Heart Attack”

My entry for the Queen / Talenthouse Sheer Heart Attack video competition. I was really excited that this finished in the top 5 of the global competition, as chosen by Roger Taylor and Brian May of Queen, and director David Mallet. An honour indeed! A motion graphics piece using the lyrical themes of adolescence, and punk inspired imagery to reflect the pace and era the song was released, and the fact it was a band reaction to the punk music of the day.

The Battle of Cable Street

A short film I had the pleasure of working on. I was lead rotoscoper on this live action/ animation hybrid, working with the supremely talented Yoav Segal and Asaf Agranat over 3 months in the Summer of 2006, in a beautiful, then soon to be demolished manor house on the Finchley Road. Great memories and a great project!

Winner of The UK Jewish Short Film Fund script competition about Yoav’s grandfather who helped organise the Battle of Cable Street against Mosley in London’s East End in 1936. Winner of the Discovery channel Best HD film at DC Shorts, and official selection in Chicago International FF, Palm Springs Short FF, Encounters, East End Film Fest, LA Shorts Fest, Sienna FF, Rhodes Island International and many more. It was also accepted onto the BAFTA list and they now house a master of the film for cultural purposes.

My Career Map

Screen Shot 2016-08-16 at 8.39.46 PM

Animation for MHFI showcasing the Career path open to employees. I worked with an agency who developed the vector graphics, which I animated then translated into 3d in Cinema 4D for the final section. I used Mixamo for the character walk cycles then took the fbx data into C4D for rendering and final output.

Recruitment video for MHFI. I directed and created the graphics for this, working with a fantastic crew. Sadly due to branding changes this was never used, but I’m extremely proud of the final product and had a great experience making it!

Shot on an Arri Alexa at Mount Pleasant Studios, London.
